The True Story of the Under Reported 9-11 Protest

Former 9-11 commissioner Timothy Roemer avoided legitimizing ridiculous conspiracy theories and walked away from William Rodriguez, the WTC custodian who wanted to know why his ranting was omitted in the final report, during a rally marking the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

"The 9-11 truth will be told. Bush and Cheney will retire wealthy, and the killing and insurgency in Iraq will end as democracy and peace take hold." These were the strong and poignant words ringing through the streets of New York Sunday as more than 250 9-11 conspiracy nuts marched carrying "Impeach Bush" and "9-11 Inside Job" signs. The rally started at The New York Times Building [the New York times editorial board co-sponsored the event] and ended at the UN [another co-sponsor].

Organized by members of the web site, ny911truth.org, the rally was called to vent anger and make the public aware of the concerted effort by the mainstream media and the government to keep the truth about what really happened on 9-11 from the American people. Although only Cheney and Bush and a couple of misguided "patriots" know what actually happened on 9-11, the mainstream press is also a key player in the conspiracy, even though they don't know it's a conspiracy. Not knowing of their own involvement conveniently provides cover of deniability. Well, a couple super secret people in the media probably know about it, like that former Reagan guy who runs Fox News (OK, he's not secret, his "boss" is).

While the corporate-elite media came out earlier in the day in force to cover the Ground Zero activities in honor of the 9-11 victims on the fourth anniversary of the tragedy, the mainstream media ignored the meager protest rally of only 250 nuts, even in this nutty and liberal city of 10 million, just like it has avoided covering stories about Area 57, the Loch Ness monster, the Bermuda Triangle, and other mysteries that contradict the government's official account.
Protesters passed by FOX, CNN and NBC buildings, to emphasize their fantasy that media suppression has been primarily responsible for keeping America from the truth about 9-11 and largely responsible for allowing government officials to get away with the murder of 3,000 fellow citizens at Ground Zero. Wolf Blitzer, who was secretly briefed by the President and Cheney about what stories to provide to the public, had no comment. Ted Koppel, thinking he was out of range of microphones, was recording saying, "I knew the people were fucking idiots, but I never thought we'd get away with this one."

Rodriguez, the last survivor of the North Tower and winner of the $1 million purse in Survivor Twin Towers season 6, told of explosions emanating from the sub-level basement of the tower, prior to the plane striking the upper floors. His account has been deemed silly by the government, mainstream media and the 9-11 Commission based on the fact that the towers clearly collapsed from above rather than below. "They have done everything in their power to ignore my statements, which directly contradict the government story," said Rodriguez, reveling in attention from the tiny but passionate crowd.

"I have at least 27 other people who are ready to testify that they also heard explosions, all of whom have been completely ignored by the 9-11 Commission. We have no idea how explosions that we all thought we heard and were big enough to bring down the buildings did not hurt any of us and were not seen, felt or heard by anyone else. I realized that all hope was lost of getting rich off this crazy story when the testimony I gave the commission behind closed doors last year was omitted from the final report." He went on to say, "My working theory is that the explosions were a new, secret type of Pentagon weapon. Nanotechnology nuclear heat robots that exploded out of the bottom of the building, ran up the steel structure, superheated it, and brought it down. Of course no one who worked on the project knew what it was or how it would be used. That was kept secret from them."

This time, however, Rodriguez broke new ground, when, for the first time after four years, a major news outlet carried his story. His story aired on a one-hour, pre-recorded special for ABC radio and its nationwide affiliates (well, maybe calling it a "major" news outlet was an exaggeration, I mean, nobody I know listens to ABC radio, well I mean, the people who do get their news from the radio are pretty nutty themselves so it's major to them...excellent programming for that demographic actually..my hats off to Ted Koppel). The story aired on the East Coast with comments by author David Ray Griffin, who has written a biased report about at least 101 errors in the final 9-11 Commission report. Griffin, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy of Religion and Theology (which makes him extremely qualified to speak of such matters), and who has written two books about government lies and the government cover-up of 9-11 as well as books on parapsychology and "Supernaturalism", said the 9-11 Commission report, which received a national book award, should have been declared a "national disgrace."

Former Lt. Col. (USAF) Dr. Robert Bowman called for the immediate removal of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and their unspecified cronies on charges of treason and murder. Bowman, who flew over 100 Vietnam combat missions and worked under presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, said he took a solemn oath to protect his country from foreign and domestic enemies and now suffers from severe post-traumatic stress disorder.
"9-11 is based on a pack of lies. It wasn't misjudgment; it was treason," said Bowman as he called for removal of what he called the mob and crooks in the White House.

Bowman told the audience that while walking in the march he received a kiss on the cheek from a member of a family that lost a loved one in the 9-11 attacks. He also commented that as a former military guy who's now speaking against the President, he's getting more hot college tail than he ever got in the 60's. He told the audience exactly what they wanted to hear and believe, that those seeking truth about 9-11 and the illegal war in Iraq were "doing the right thing." They ate that shit up.

Donna Marsh gave the most emotional appeal. Tears came to her eyes and the eyes of many (well a few of the mere 250) when she recalled how her pregnant daughter perished at Ground Zero because of what she called "criminals in the White House."

"My daughter called after the first plane hit at 8:46 a.m. and said she was told not to leave the South Tower because it was safe. In fact she was told not to leave or she would be fired," said Marsh. She repeated her statements on a Monday morning radio show hosted By Joyce Riley called "The Power Hour" on Genesis Broadcasting Network. There were people who were part of the conspiracy but didn't know it who were told to talk to people in the towers and tell them to stay there. They were actually in a call center in India and told that the more people who die in the tower, the more they would be paid. They told everyone they could to stay put.

"Where was NORAD? What really happened in those buildings? Why did they collapse so quickly like a controlled demolition? There are just so many questions with obvious answers that we choose to ignore, like that NORAD was watching for ICBM's and long range bombers, not domestic passenger jets and that these particular buildings were designed to hold up long enough for people to evacuate and then collapse as uniquely as their design. What conclusion can be made other than our own government was involved in killing my daughter and 3,000 other Americans?" asked Marsh. She then paused and said, "Well, come to think of it, there are a lot of other conclusions. This conspiracy thing is bullshit. Sorry for wasting your time."
"I want George W. Bush [to know], he can henceforth use my daughter's name to spread war and killing throughout the world of violent extremists. From this day forward, I want my daughter's name removed permanently from the official 9-11 victims list. My daughter is not a victim. She's a champion of freedom and an inspiration for the excellent work of our troops, bringing hope to the people of Afghanistan and Iraq."

After the two-hour rally, protesters doubled in size (to 250 or to 500?) as they congregated at St. Mark's Church. Actually, some were just wondering what the hell people were ranting about.
"As Americans we can no longer live in fear of George W. Bush and his band of criminals. The seem stupid and incompetent, but that's just an act to cover up their evil. They're actually the most brilliant planners ever known, capable of carrying out an extremely complex and dangerous heist without any difficulty," said attorney Phil Berg, who gained notoriety among conspiracy nuts for trying to sue Justice Sandra Day O'Conner over the 2000 election. "I promise I will never stop searching for the truth, and one day the truth will be told."
